Your First Week
Your first week helps you settle into your new role, connect with your team, and feel part of the Mediclinic community. You will get to know our culture, explore your workplace, and begin your role-specific training feeling supported and ready.

During your first week, you will become familiar with key departments, support services, and reporting lines to help you navigate your new environment.
You’ll also tour essential areas, including entrances, parking, restrooms, emergency exits, the staff cafeteria, and prayer rooms, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident in your new workplace.
Understanding your working hours is an important part of settling into your role. At Mediclinic, working hours are classified as shift and non-shift.
Shift workers generally work 8–12-hour shifts, including weekends, to support 24-hour care, while non-shift workers follow fixed hours from Monday to Friday.
Working hours are limited to a maximum of 45 hours per week, inclusive of a one-hour break per day and working days are determined based on the type of shift assigned to each employee.
One of the key milestones during your first week is meeting with your manager to discuss your job expectations, goals, and performance objectives.
This important conversation helps align your role with departmental priorities and sets you up for success.
You will also begin training on job-specific procedures, equipment, or software, start your initial assignments or patient care responsibilities (if applicable), and shadow colleagues to understand workflows, team dynamics, and how your role contributes to the wider Mediclinic team.

During your first week, various tools and resources will be made available to help you get started smoothly. You will access the Employee Self-Service (Connect) Portal to complete HR tasks and explore the Learning Academy, where you can access a range of learning courses.
In addition, you will gain access to the Mediclinic Intranet, which provides information about the company, departments, communities, policies, and other helpful resources.
If not completed during preboarding, you will also finish your mandatory eLearning or hands-on trainingon the Bayanaty system or other platforms required for your role.
You will further learn to use key communication and reporting tools relevant to your department, helpingyou work efficiently and stay connected with your team.

From your first week onwards, you will have opportunities to begin collaborating and integrating with your team and other departments.
You will attend team meetings to observe how your department coordinates daily activities and meet cross-functional colleagues from areas such as nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, and administration.
Regular check-ins with your manager or HR will also help address any questions or support needs as you settle into your new role and build connections across the organisation.

At the end of your first week, you will meet with your manager to review what you’ve learned, discuss yourprogress, and clarify next steps.
Finally, you’ll be invited to share your experience through the onboarding feedback survey to help usenhance and continuously improve the onboarding journey.
